Counselling sessions are usually weekly.

Counselling can sometimes be a shorter term treatment than

CBT. At the same time some people find long term counselling

very beneficial.

Counselling treatments usually last for between 8–40

sessions. You can choose to stop counselling at any time.

When the people closest to you are the very last people you can talk to, you need to confide in someone completely separate from your day to day life.  Someone independent and accepting, who will not judge what you think or feel or what you have done.  Someone who will treat what you say in confidence.  Listen to you with full attention, giving you the space you need.  Counselling in a safe, calm and confidential space with a man who will put your interests first.

What life issues can counselling help with?

Yes. Many people struggling with emotions feel too overwhelmed to be completely clear about what is going on for them. It's your therapist's job to help you understand what is happening to you. The most important thing at the start of therapy is that you are ready to face your difficulties and begin to make changes in your life.

If I am unsure what is happening to me, can I still start therapy?
